Wednesday update- Spiritual barriers removed & eyes opened

Today was a day that truly displayed the power of prayer. We came across one man in the afternoon who was willing to listen to the story of the Gospel. We encouraged one of our local Ethiopian partners to share and give him a chance in using the evange-cube as we gave support. As the conversation carried on, our translators would explain the questions the man was asking so we could participate in the conversation. At one point we were told, “He believes the message to be true, but he has a block in his mind.” While I didn’t fully understand what this meant, I immediately began to pray to God. I knew that while I didn’t know what the ‘block’ in his mind was, I know God did. I asked God to remove the barrier that this man had in his mind and compel his heart to come to know Jesus as his savior. As the conversation was coming to a close, our translator asked us to pray as a group over the man. We all joined together to pray earnestly that this man would be able to have a personal relationship with Jesus. As soon as the prayer concluded the man spoke with our translator, and we were told that the man understood and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior!

Not long after celebrating another victory for God’s Kingdom, another man came to speak with us. The pattern of this man and the last was almost identical in response. Again, this man heard the message, he also said he believed but had a block in his mind, we prayed with him, and his mind was opened. These two men came to us the same day and with similar barriers to the message of Christ. But God was able to work in their minds and heart to give them understanding and to be open to His message.

This was such a reminder to myself and the team that prayer is powerful because we pray to a Powerful God. We should always pray in faith to God, who can move mountains and can move hearts.  Story by Samuel

The team feels great & has had 3 full days of ministry.  So many conversations with Ethiopian Orthodox so pray that the Lord would continue to reveal the truth of Christ as “the way, the truth & the life”.  Continue to pray for:

·      Open hearts to the gospel of Jesus Christ

·       Continued good health for North Americans

·       Safety as we travel on Ethiopian roads

·       Unity with our Ethiopian partners

·       Those who have accepted Christ that they would stand strong in the face of persecution
