Our God is mighty to save- 1st day of ministry

What an amazing day! One conversation that we really enjoyed was with an elderly man in the village. A man’s wife saw that we were sharing Jesus in the village and she went out of her way and invited us into her house. The wife was a believer, and so were the children, but the husband was not. Long story short, the man came to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. As we walked through the sinner’s prayer, I could see and hear the wife crying tears of joy and praising God for salvation of her husband as she had prayed for this for years. It was such a powerful moment where we could see God moving in such a tangible and real way. Praise God for how he is continuing to move in the heart of the Ethiopians! – Reese

Day one and hearts are being changed! We were amazed how quickly crowds built up as we began walking alongside the road waiting to interact with the Ethiopian people – many whom have never seen an American! It didn’t take much time before we were repeatedly invited into different villagers’ courtyards and homes to share why we were there. At one point during the day, our team ran into a man who was intoxicated.  While sharing Christ with him, he was disruptive and agitated, unwilling to hear what we had to say.  As the day progressed, he continued to follow us where we saw God slowly soften his heart.  After several hours, remarkably, he humbly confessed he was a believer who had fallen into sin and struggled with alcohol and wanted to repent. He got on his hands and knees and our group prayed for him and he repented and asked Jesus to give him strength.  We encouraged him to get plugged into the local church where he could love others and others could love him and hold him accountable. We are already so encouraged by the power of God at work in Ethiopia.

Our hearts are encouraged after the first full day of ministry.  The weather here is awesome (high of 70) with a low of 55.  We are at over 7,000 feet of elevation and the mountains around us are beautiful.  The immigration issue for one of our team members was resolved early Sunday morning and the team is all together in Hosaena.  Everyone is healthy and ready for the 2nd full day of ministry.

Please continue to pray for:

·       Open hearts to the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ

·      Safety and good health for the North Americans

·      Unity with our Ethiopian partners
